Hanging gardens for Maggie’s Centre in Leeds

The 26th Maggie’s Centre was created in Leeds based on a design by architects from Heatherwick Studio in London. The structure comprises three nested pavilions of prefabricated timber elements. A total of 240 laminated timber elements were milled at our production site in Switzerland for this purpose. The pavilions were also prefabricated in our Swiss production halls in timber frame construction and then transported by truck to Leeds where our team carried out the assembly on site.

Our Free Form-specialists were responsible for the development of this barrel-shaped ceiling structure, as well as the production and assembly of it. The exposed diamond pattern in the ceiling gives the space a dramatic feel and also has a positive effect on the acoustics. A total of 140m3 of timber was used for the entire hall, including the acoustic strip profiles made of Swiss silver fir.

More timber structures for Hasley Nine Bridges Golf Resort in South Korea

The new casino in Venlo opened at the beginning of July. With the organic forms of its architecture and an interactive facade shimmering in all hues, MVSA Architects makes a striking allusion to the importance of flowers in the Netherlands. The concept for the interior of the casino was developed together with the Las Vegas-based interior design firm Gensler.
